Whiteface Ski Area and the Olympic Regional Development Authority have just announced today that Whiteface will remain open to biking this summer. Mentioned in thier statement was the vast numbers of letters, e-mails, phone calls and signatures on the online petition and how much they all weighed in on thier decision. High Peaks Cyclery (Whiteface's local bike shop) have gotten Whiteface and ORDA to agree upon official dates for the season. Whiteface will be open June 18th through October 9th, weekends only.
During thier talks High Peak Cyclery and ORDA agreed to help promote the downhill scene at Whiteface Ski Area, look for event updates on thier websites throughout the summer season. High Peaks Cyclery also wishes to extend thier appreciation for the support in thier endevour to keep Whiteface open. As such, they will be holding an opening weekend party at Whiteface, BBQ and all.
