Diablo Freeride Park Offers $35,000 in Cash and Prizes

Vernon, NJ, January 6, 2005 – Diablo Freeride Park, the east coast’s premier mountain bike park, is pleased to announce the return of the highly acclaimed U.S. Open of Mountain Biking. In its third year, the U.S. Open is once again offering one of the largest cash purses of any North American mountain bike event. On May 27-29th, event promoter TerraLogic Park Industries is boldly offering the world’s fastest downhill racers a lofty $20,000 purse with a minimum first place male/female payout of $5,000.

The U.S. Open of Mountain Biking will continue to utilize its unique, open “Pro-Am” format. Amateur racers will once again have the rare opportunity to test their skill against some of the world’s fastest professional racers in the Open Class or they can opt to compete in the Amateur Class to vie for over $15,000 in product with a first place prize package valued at nearly $4,000.

The 2005 U.S. Open downhill course will feature many new additions but will still cover many sections that have made the course an instant classic. More information will be released as it becomes available.
