I hope you find my Tweaks and Tips section helpful. If there is something you want to know about, send me an email and I will try to add that to one of my upcoming articles.
Brooklyn Machine Works (BMW) has announced the creation of the Hitman.
The Hitman is a replacement of the old Big Link from 2000. It gets 10" of travel!!! like its older cousin. The Hitman was conceived originally in the fall of 2002 when Avalanche announced they were going to make a 10.5" x 3.5" stroke DHS. Since the RaceLink has performed so well the Hitman concept was put on the backburner for a few years. It will be in testing throughout 2005, I can't wait for 2006 .
Downcycles will keep you posted on any news over the year about the Hitman!
Read the Tech Tip: "The Bike of the Lord." The new Hit Man should be a bit lighter. BMW had Avalanche build them custom 3.5" stroke DHS rear shocks. The original Hit Man rear shock alone was 5lbs!
Sad Fact: I never had a chance to ride my Hit Man at Diablo (Originally Mountain Creek). The year I got the bike, found out Mountain Creek was closing. I owned the bike for the two years Creek was closed!
Wish I had a chance to ride the BMW trail on a BMW. Hasn't happened yet, even after owning 3 of their frames.
