Anyone who gunk’s up the chain with this lube is applying it incorrectly. Simply follow the directions on the back of the bottle. I've been using Chain L on all my bikes for over a year now. My drive (chain, cogs, etc) are clean. The lube doesn't sling off or build up any more than any other brand lube. Chain L will last longer than wax lubes and your bike will shift much better.
Far as the smell, well, that's a weird comment! It smells like lube to me when I stick my nose right up against the chain! Ha! I probably wouldn't splash it on after shaving and go out to the pub.
The tire bead can weaken from people who don't know how to properly install tires. Only experts can install tires on a tubeless rim by hand. Let’s face it, 90% of the riders out there will mount and dismount tires with metal or plastic levers. Damage or deform a tubeless bead and you have yourself a leaker.
Riders who are mellow and stay glued to the ground will have less of an issue burping a tubeless bead. Obviously the more aggressive you ride, the more chance of disrupting the bead to rim interface. Dent your tubeless rim and you are on tubes until the rim is replaced.
I still have tubeless on my hardtail for testing. I've been on tubeless for 2 seasons now. Never did I get the full life out of a tubeless tire. I always get casing punctures long before the tire wears. Stans will not seal the holes even though they are small.
I have tubes on my GT sensor. I have a full season on the bike with only one rear flat (snake bite, 2.1 DTC Nevegal). The tire seemed OK, just needed a new tube, back on the trail in 5 minutes.
I'm still leaning towards tubes when it comes to trail riding. I feel that tubeless is appropriate for XC racers and that's all for now.
Thank you for your comment! I'm very interested in rider’s opinions on this topic!
Ran the Avalanche DHS 5 years ago and loved it, decided to try about every shock under the sun over the last few years and Im back on a woodie now. (dhs wiith resivoir connected to shock) and I couldnt be happier its still totally ahead of the game, I rode the vivd 5.1, roco wc iar, Elka stage 5, DHX 5.0, 5th,6wya intrinsic and hands down the avy is a better shock. Tuning and adjustments as well as its a true speed sensative shock vs the position sensative out there.
I am riding the Ava advantage Hi speed mod for the 2010 boxxer in my WC and it opened up the potential of the fork even over the new designs and tuning.
AVY for life.......
Thanks for the great review. I am still on a Kona I got used in '99 and I think its time to pull the trigger on something a bit newer :)
I have been using it for some time here in Australia and now sell it !! its simply the best on the market try it!! you will be converted !!!
